Transforming Play Spaces Across the UK

Over the past month, we have been extremely busy, designing, building and installing play equipment at sites throughout the whole of the UK. Here's just a few projects that we have been hard at work at... In November, we transformed Pudsey Waterloo Primary School in Leeds and East Ayton Primary School in Scarborough, giving them bespoke solutions to their playground problems.

Pudsey Waterloo Primary School - Leeds

At Pudsey Waterloo Primary School, they had an unusable muddy embankment, which you will be able to see on the images below. It was our challenge to convert this into an all-weather nature walk, ensuring it was both sturdy and safe for children to walk on. We also built a bespoke outdoor classroom where youngsters can now enjoy learning outside on a sunny day, or rush into for shelter in rainy weather. Not only did we make these changes, but we also installed a brand new tower system into their already existing wet pour area, enhancing the play space and creating an exciting focal point. Let us know what you think!

East Ayton Primary School - Scarborough

At East Ayton Primary School in Scarborough, we were tasked with creating a tailor-made playground that included a variety of play facilities, including those of which to spark children's imagination and learning. Our team designed the playground below, which features trim trails, balance beams and a traverse net to build on children's core strength and of course, balance. We also included junior tramtrax and swinging steps, as well as monkey hoops to swing from one stepping stone to another. The main focus of the play space is the amazing SS East Ayton, which is a wooden role play boat where children can take the helm and imagine they are sailing the seven seas hunting for treasure!

The Holiday Park & Resort Innovation Show

On November 9th and 10th we exhibited at the Holiday Park & Resort Innovation Show at the NEC Birmingham. The event itself is a trade show designed to provide attendees with the inspiration, advice and resources they need to put their holiday businesses on the map. Whether they're looking to grow, start, evolve or improve their business, the exhibition has everything they need, under one roof. Both days are packed with unmissable seminars and workshops from the UK's finest speakers offering expert advice, guidance and support, as well as market-leading exhibitors, such as ourselves, to help visitors find the best opportunities, products and services for their holiday businesses. At the event we built one of our astounding bespoke wooden towers on our stand. This one was named The Cloud Hide-Away, and is now making its way to South Wales to Tanylam Farm Holidays in Carmarthenshire. See our friend and partner, Matt Spedding, owner of Pile Height Artificial Grass shaking the purchaser, John's hand when it was sold on the stand. The exhibition was a roaring success and we managed to make a lot of great connections which we think we can help in the near future. This is definitely a show that we will be considering for next year!

Operation Christmas Child

On an ending note, Playscheme are this year involved in Operation Christmas Child, which was started by charity, Samaritan's Purse. We have all packed shoeboxes and sent them away to join the hundreds of others heading across the world to those in need this Christmas. In the new year we will get to find out where our gifts have ended up, which is great! This is our first year doing this but we expect to go bigger and better next year. After all, it's such a wonderful cause. If you're interesting in finding out how we can enhance your play area then please do get in touch. We would love to share some ideas with you!
