Last week, we welcomed a new addition to our team. Meet James Green, who joins Playscheme as Product Designer. James applied for the job after seeing our advertisement in local York publication, Your Local Link. He was interested in the position due to the wide variety of projects that are happening at any one time when compared to other companies within the creative sector. After studying a BSc in Industrial and Product Design at The University of Northampton, he went on to join another local business, Archipod who create outdoor 3D pods, where he also took up the role of Product Designer. His job there was to design and construct bespoke pieces of furniture and interiors for their high-end outdoor offices. After working there for just over a year, he decided he wanted a fresh challenge and sought out the role here at Playscheme. We couldn't be happier to have him on board! James was happy to get stuck in and delivered his design this week for Barwic Parade Community Primary School in Selby, North Yorkshire, as well as helping to price up another project for a new school in Nottingham. Looking forward to working on larger projects which have more of an independent design role, James is tackling the challenges of learning new design layout programmes such as SketchUp. James said of his experience so far: "I love working here already, the atmosphere is great and everyone is so helpful. I can't wait to get my teeth into some juicy projects." We're pretty sure James will settle in quite well here and become a part of the Playscheme family with ease!
