You don't have anything in your wishlist at the moment.
In the next instalment of our 'A Day in the Life of' series, we catch up with Ashleigh Cleet who is Design Manager at Playscheme.
Tell us about your role
I'm head of design and quotations and I manage a small but ever-expanding team of creative individuals to make sure that every school, nursery and play area gets an exciting design that meets all their requirements.
What are the key challenges of your role?
Every day brings a new challenge! Making sure the designs and tenders go out on time, that the products I price are fair, competitive and the highest quality. And most importantly, that my team are happy and we all have fun at work.
What aspect of your role do you like the best?
Doing the unexpected. Every day is completely different which keeps it interesting. One day I can be designing a new Adventure Tower System, the next day I could be presenting the ideas to a classroom full of children. I'm also involved with social media, the website, marketing, branding and everything in between. Playscheme keeps me on my toes!
Ashleigh as a child
How long have you been working at Playscheme?
I started here in August 2013, so it's coming up to 3 years this Summer!
How do you like to spend your free time?
Walking the pooch, Millie our ginger Cockapoo, trying out new restaurants in town, spending weekends away with the tent, or cooking up tasty treats (Mostly experimental, not always tasty!)
What is your happiest memory of working at Playscheme?
I don't think it's one memory in particular, throughout my time here it's been great working with friends rather than colleagues. Sitting on the latest build outside on a sunny day (If you're lucky it's some kind of picnic bench), meeting up at the pub after work, going to fitness classes, and Christmas parties. The people who work here are definitely what makes it a happy place to be a part of.
What is your favourite childhood memory?
Making potions and perfumes with my mum's herbs and flowers.
Where did you love to play when you were younger?
At the beach with our kite, or on the stone jetty (Morecambe Seaside!)
What was your favourite toy as a child?
My Playmobil doll's house
Which living person do you most admire and why?
My dad, I'm a daddy's girl through and through.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
Too many to choose from, I'm far too easily embarrassed.
What is your most treasured possession?
A ring my Nana gave me for my 21st Birthday
Ashleigh working away on an exciting project
What would your super power be?
To be able to rewind and pause time.
What is your favourite phrase or motto?
"Google it" or "I'm hungry"
What is your guilty pleasure?
Netflix and Jaffa Cakes - best if I have both at the same time!
If you could go back in time, where would you go?
1920's - Parties, cocktails and sparkly dresses
How do you relax?
Reading in front of the fire, picnics in the park and walks along the river.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Finishing my university degree with first class honours.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
Every day is a school day!
